Plot:
Tsumura Yōsuke, the president of O.T. Shōji, a company in Kyoto, is killed by a bomb placed in his car. Okabe Shirō, Yōsuke's friend who established the company with him, hurries back to Kyoto, where he encounters Yōsuke's wife Yūko. Six years ago, Shirō and Yūko fell in love, but Yōko chose Yōsuke instead, and Shirō left Japan. Though Yōko asks him not to get involved, Shirō suspects that a yakuza leader named Ogata is behind the murder. Ogata has his men interfere with Shirō's investigations into Yōsuke's death. Nevertheless, Shirō learns that Yōsuke's company had been facing bankruptcy and that Yōsuke had gone into the smuggling business with Ogata. He also learns that Yōsuke used to visit a woman named Rumi, who is the proprietress of a bar. Rumi denies she had a relationship with Yōsuke but when Shirō tails her, he finds Yōsuke alive.
